How to connect Google Search Console and Analytics to your reports
How to connect Google Search Console and Google Analytics to a client's reports, read-only, so clicks, queries and visits from AI appear automatically.
Why connect Google data
Connecting Google Search Console adds the client's real Google clicks, top queries and top pages to the dashboard and the report. Connecting Google Analytics 4 adds visits that came from AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Perplexity. Access is read-only: nothing in the client's Google account can be changed.
Option 1: Connect with Google
On the brand's Overview, find the Connect your Google data card and click Connect with Google. Sign in with the Google account that manages the client's website and allow read-only access. Search Console and Analytics connect together, using the properties that match the website.
While the Google sign-in is in beta, you may need to request access first; the card shows a button for it.
Option 2: Add our read-only email
If you can't use the Google sign-in, open Other ways to connect on the same card and copy the email shown there. Then:
- Search Console: Settings → Users and permissions → Add user, paste the email, choose Restricted, and click Add.
- Google Analytics 4: Admin → Property access management → + → Add users, paste the email, choose Viewer, and click Add.
- Back in the dashboard, click Check access.
If nothing connects
“Nothing found” usually means the Google account you used has no Search Console or Analytics property for this exact website. Check the domain matches (with or without www), or ask the client to add you as a user first. Search Console data syncs daily once connected.
